Our name was chosen in memory of those early pioneers who first founded and lived in Corinth, LA, and established the tradition of strong family and community ties. The building, Gordon Brazzel & Descendants Memorial Center, is named not only for Gordon Brazzel, who is the patriarch of the Brazzel family, but also for the thousands of descendants who now stretch into at least seven generations, sharing a common heritage and bearing the names of other pioneer families of the community.
Our motto is simple:
Honoring Our Heritage. Cultivating Our Future.
Maintaining Our Tradition.
Our purpose is to fulfill our motto in the following ways:
- To construct, operate and maintain a meeting/recreational facility, “community center”.
- To provide assistance to organizations that assist low-income persons and the elderly in or
near Lincoln Parish, LA. - To provide assistance to the Corinth Cemetery Association
Our membership is open to any descendant or spouse of a descendant of the marriages of Gordon Brazzel to Mary Slayter Brazzel and, later, to Caroline Guin Brazzel. Additionally, membership in the corporation shall be open to the general public and anyone interested in the purposes of the corporation.
